Down a long winding forest road, as the new moon starts to rise
I find my way home, following just the stars in the skies.
Quiet forest sounds, whisper softly in the ear. Lightly, like music
To a traveler’s soul, promising warmth, love and magic.
Glowing light in the distance grows closer as night falls deeper
Shrinking the world in which a solitary traveler
Blocks out the noise of the outside world, releasing the journey
In exchange for rich experience, for life and beauty.
Smells of pine, and moss, and forest leaves mingling in the senses.
Sky for roof, earth for bed, trees for walls and shrubs for fences
A soft lover’s kiss, a smile and warm embrace, all welcome home
One who wonders, but is not lost. Is one, but not alone.
The traveler steps into the light and it envelopes all,
A world like a snow globe, insular, self contained and small.
Love, rest for the soul, all travelers the stay prolonging.
The act of coming home, sweet contentment in belonging.
